Girl WNder: KWN is back and on her ‘Worst Behaviour’

r&b

Following weeks of teasing on her socials and droves of fans rushing to her website to purchase the ‘limited release’, KWN has dropped the highly anticipated track ‘Worst Behaviour’ on streaming platforms. This marks the third single of 2024 from the East London songstress, with it arguably being her most seductive yet.

Creativity has been ever-present in KWN from a young age. She was a student at the East London Arts and Music College, where she was able to develop her sound and evolve into the artist we see today whose talents aren’t just resigned to performing, but to writing and producing also. She dropped her debut EP ‘Episode Wn’ almost 2 years to the day, which features tracks ‘Sweetie’ and ‘Making Love’ and earlier this year released ‘Eyes Wide Open’, which has garnered over 1 million streams on Spotify - her highest yet.

‘Worst Behaviour’ does exactly what it says on the tin, evoking feelings of yearning and lust, making listeners want to do nothing more than misbehave. KWN sticks to what she knows best, serenading us with tempting lyrics that showcase the smooth lilt of her voice which she has successfully utilised to make a name for herself.

The vocals are flawlessly layered on top of a sensual beat. Ad-libs and harmonies weaved throughout, akin to the slow pour of warm honey. Very few things in this life are perfect, but the 2 minute and 58 second journey we’re taken on is pretty close.

KWN’s career can be seen as a modern day success story. This release comes off the back of ‘Auction’, a linkup with long-time friend and collaborator Sasha Keable and R&B starlet Destin Conrad, and a big-time feature on ‘Clothes Off’ from Kehlani’s ‘While We Wait 2’ project. Her appearances on stage during Kehlani’s ‘Crash’ tour to perform the aforementioned track have catapulted KWN into the forefront of many R&B lover’s minds - with many thanking Kehlani for the introduction.

‘Worst Behaviour’ is bound to have pride of place on many playlists - most likely those NSFW - for the coming months, and KWN’s clever marketing ploy just proves that FOMO will always pique the audience’s interest and get them talking.
