“Are you dumb, are you stupid?” There’s something about that new Travy track!

‘Forgive me’ is the latest release from  Nigerian-Born Irish based rapper, Travy. Travy (FKA TraviS) is back with a force, reintroducing himself as one of Ireland's most exciting voices in the Rap scene and this intoxicating track is nothing to play with.

After his father migrated his family to Dublin in search of a better life; while he stayed to serve as a general in the Nigerian army, Travy found solace in his fathers iPod nano, pacifying his feelings of alienation from his home. From this, Travy stumbled across 50 Cent's 2003 classic, ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin', admiring 50’s storytelling and birthing his love for Rap.

Travy first gained attention by accident, freestyling at parties in his teenage years, then going on to collaborate with Elzzz releasing 'Full Circle' in 2023 (which peaked at No.2 in The Irish OCC). The pair went on to release ‘DOGHOUSE’, their 2024 project featuring break out single ‘ Blockbuster’ propelling Travy's career and earning him No.1 on the official Irish Charts.

Travy has since featured in reputable publications CULTED and Complex, and has been co-sign by artists and tastemakers including Maverick Sabre, Tiffany Calver, Sainte, Strandz and many more.

Travy has most recently been in New York for fashion week and has been in the studio over in the states before returning in time for London fashion week.

‘Forgive me’ is the first solo release from Travy; and with his forthcoming mixtape due sometime in December,  this track highlights the unique blend of sounds within his music combining Irish rap, blending American club Hip-Hop, British Grime, and the feel-good vibes of Nigerian Highlife. Accompanied by cinematic visuals directed by Sam Fallover the instrumentation and lyricism transcend us through moods and take us on a musical journey.

This is just the catalyst for this young talent and I’m invested in the trajectory of this Travy and what else is to come. Be sure to follow Travey’s journey and check out his previous work but for now ‘Forgive me’ is definitely getting added to my playlist.
