Monkey Shoulder Whisky & Worldwide FM Launch £10,000 Grant to Support Music Communities

It’s a great time to be the brains behind a music collective as whiskey brand Monkey Shoulder have launched a brand new initiative in partnership with Giles Peterson’s international radio station Worldwide FM to help and support grassroots music communities.

A huge £10,000 will be awarded to five communities around the world to help bring an original project of theirs to life. A generous and life-changing opportunity!

Not only will the winning communities receive a generous cash grant to fund their project, but Monkey Shoulder will also be amplifying the stories of these communities through a series of films, events and radio broadcasts with Worldwide FM.

But why?

Music is such a powerful and beautiful art form that it’s no surprise just how many music communities stem solely from the sheer passion and love for music. However, all creative people know that nothing is more satisfying than actually having a budget to work with. It can be the difference between your ideas making it from the Notes App to the Instagram Explore page to red carpet invites and so on.

Funding not only helps ensure that get people paid, but it allows music communities to think bigger.

Monkey Shoulder and Worldwide FM really want to see “the next wave of music communities. Communities that are finding new ways of doing things”. That includes everyone from the gritty and grungy club nights to music social clubs and online spaces. Anywhere where people can meet and make music is exactly what they are looking for.

Ieuan Morgan, Global Brand Manager for Monkey Shoulder, says: “Monkey Shoulder believes things are better when they are mixed. That applies to our whisky as it also does to music scenes that foster creativity, diversity and new thinking. Our ambition is to serve as a long-term supporter of grassroot music scenes. By partnering with Gilles and Worldwide FM, we look forward to discovering new talent, to unearth and tell their stories and to collectively, stir things up a little.”

The UK-based community, collective, or music organisation who receive the Studio Monkey Shoulder investment will also have the opportunity to create their own event and feature in a series of films and radio broadcasts, all produced in collaboration with Worldwide FM.

To apply for the £10,000 fund, all applications must be submitted by 9th May! To apply and learn more info such as how to apply, what they’re looking for and when you’ll find out if you’ve been selected, visit: monkeyshoulder.com/studio-monkey-shoulder
