South London artist Santino Le Saint’s drops an entirely acoustic EP titled ‘new material’

There’s just something about an entirely acoustic EP that makes you feel even more connected to an artist. The Brixton based artist Santino Le Saint’s newest 5-track project titled ‘new material’ is stripped back with ‘no frills no gimmicks’. With just one featured artist - none other than Col3trane, we really get the chance to learn all about Santino Le Saint.

‘new material’ EP artwork

From the artwork (drawn by Santino) to the production, 'new material' feels raw and organic to the core. The artwork feels like a mind-map of ideas, featuring doodles of a guitar, skulls, eyes etc with arrows and annotations that expand on each track from the EP.

As you listen to this EP, you can't help but feel all the feels as all the songs are about love and heartbreak. The soulful vocals and brutally honest lyrics hit you right in the gut, bringing up memories and emotions you thought you had buried deep. 'new material' is a rollercoaster of raw vulnerability and heartache, and diving into it is like a therapeutic escape, letting you wallow in the pain of a shattered romance.
