I want to stay up so we both never land” Keeping up with RIO RAINZ: ‘Neverland’
Earlier this year, I wrote about Rio Rainz, the talented young artist hailing from East London. Rio's creativity and storytelling know no bounds, and the rapper is back with another single, ‘neverland’, only months after the release of his now-popular single, ‘BAD!’.
When we last left Rio Rainz, the artist explored his creative talents and multiple musical skills to create unique tracks and hone his expression. His most recent singles ‘BAD!’ and ‘Mutual Butterflies’ co-written and Produced by Oscar Moos (Flohio/Col3trane) and accompanied by artistic visuals, became the catalyst Rio needed to continue solidifying his creativity in the UK music scene.
Over the past few years, Rio Rainz’ transformative journey has contributed to his mission to help others through his music who may have similar struggles. Rio Rainz’ music is a combination of lived experiences pulling from the likes of nights spent at house parties till 6 am, emotions in relationships, and youthful angst. From self-educating to embracing his quirks, Rio has become accepting of himself and his talents, realising his quirks may be his superpowers.
Rio Rainz’ latest release ‘neverland’ produced by Kurisu, complemented with snapshot lyric visuals comes at the perfect time, transcending audiences into his world. A vulnerable combination of emotion and fantasy, encapsulating the intoxicating feelings of falling for someone. When reflecting on “Neverland’ Rainz’ expresses, “I wrote this about losing yourself in someone else’s presence, the moments you spend together lost in their imagination”. There is no denying this young talent's lyricism, musicality and exploration through his music.
Rio Rainz has recently been announced as the supporting act for Rizzle Kicks' highly anticipated headline show at the infamous KOKO on Friday, 8th November. Don't forget to support Rio Rainz' musical journey, and overall discography and stream his latest single ‘neverland’.
