Everything is better in twos and there is no exception for Deema’s lyrical serenade: ‘LILREDWHIP’ and ‘C4LL MY PHONE’

Deema is a South-East London gem hailing from Peckham. His musical journey began when he was exposed to artists like Skepta, Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal, and Jamie T; through his Dad’s iPod, and they still heavily influence his sound today. During his school years, Deema played the drums, leading him to meet his producer, Dom Valentino, who has produced for the likes of Greentea Peng, Unknown T and P-rallel. Deema went on to catch the attention of Blakie; due to his growing passion for grime music, along with his lyrics and freestyles with friends, who invited him to perform on a radio show with his Lewisham-based grime collective, The Square. This radio performance was pivotal in Deema’s career, leading to gigs on Rinse FM, performances alongside BoyBetterKnow, and at Wiley’s Eskimo Dance and Reading Festival.


Deema released his EP. ‘THE DEBUT’ in 2019 which aided as an introduction to his lyricism and artistry, However, his career was catalysed with the release of "Chew Your Food" his 2020 EP. Featuring the fan-favourite track "Hash Brown" accompanied by eye-catching visuals, which helped showcase his development and dynamic flow. His 2021 EP. "Rainbow," produced by Grammy Award winner Venna and Dom Valentino, further cemented him in the UK rap scene and has put him on the path of a household name. Deema has gone on to release three more EPs, supported US Rap duo The Underachievers at The Garage in Highbury and Islington, and maintained a regular radio show on Balamii radio. Dazed co-signed the rapper stating "perhaps the happiest rapper you’ll ever hear," and his artistic growth continues to impress gaining further co-signs from tastemakers like NME, Complex, Clash Magazine, and Notion, building excitement for his upcoming EP, ‘DOG WITH A £’.

‘C4LL MY PHONE’ is the latest single release from Deema and is the fourth track from his anticipated EP., which is set to release mid November, it gives this fans a taste of what is to come. Earlier this week (7th October 2024), Deema dropped the music video for his popular single ‘LILREDWHIP’, directed by close friend and collaborator Ed Peacock, the catching video captures the artists creativity and effortlessly builds more excitement for the EP. This was building off of the success of his earlier release ‘UK SYNTH’ featuring Bawo, which became his highest first-week streaming numbers. These releases have created further fan anticipation for more from this rising lyricist. Showcasing his genre-blending versatility, ‘C4LL MY PHONE’ is a psychedelic, Jersey Club-inspired single produced by Cotton. The experimental production features distorted synths and sampled Soul vocals, which is a creative contrast from ‘LILREDWHIP’, which is chilled, soulful and lyrically soothing, creating fresh, captivating sounds.

Deema is rapidly becoming a respected voice in the UK rap scene, his nonconformist style showcases versatility and creativity. With ‘LILREDWHIP’ and ‘C4LL MY PHONE’, Deema unleashes a new dimension of his artistry, and has earned spots on multiple editorial playlists. Blending vocals with a hyper-rap twist, he serenades his audience, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the ‘DOG WITH A £’ EP., set to drop on November 14th 2024. After refined his craft over the past few years, Deema now emerges as a creative force.
